Liverpool's 30-year wait for a league title is surely coming to an end and the day of celebration can be brought closer with a victory over Wolves at Molineux.

Jurgen Klopp's task is to keep his players focusing on each game, and he will expect a tough assignment against Wolves, who narrowly lost 1-0 at Anfield last month.

Wolves suffered a dip in form after their visit to Merseyside and headed to Southampton on Saturday seeking their first win in six games.

They got off to a dreadful start, trailing 2-0 at half-time, but produced a remarkable fightback to clinch a 3-2 victory and stay in the hunt for a top-four finish.

Slow starts have become a trend for Wolves, who have netted the first goal in just one of their last nine games.

Over that period they came from behind to win 2-1 at Norwich and 3-2 at home to Manchester City, but it would be more difficult to recover a deficit against Liverpool, who possess one of the strongest defences in Premier League history.

Klopp's side had a few sloppy moments in the earlier part of the season but they have been utterly ruthless over the last seven weeks, keeping seven consecutive Premier League clean sheets.

Virgil Van Dijk has been an absolute colossus and was outstanding in both boxes as Liverpool defeated Manchester United 2-0 on Sunday, scoring with a superb header and defending manfully when the visiting side applied sustained pressure in the final 15 minutes.

The Dutchman has every attribute required for a world class centre-back and his presence is the main reason Liverpool can win so many games without getting close to their attacking potential.

The famous front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were nowhere near their best against United but it didn't matter because Liverpool's defence remained assured and confident in their ability to see the job through.

Another impressive aspect about Liverpool is that there is no sign of complacency despite their comfortable position.

They started the recent games at Tottenham and at home to Manchester United with excellent intensity and it felt like a matter of time before they got their noses in front.

Wolves need to try to turn the tables by getting on the front foot but they usually prefer to play a patient, counter-attacking game when facing heavyweight opposition.

Those tactics have worked well for them against several big-six clubs but they have not been successful against Liverpool, who have won the teams' last three league meetings without conceding a goal.

An understrength Liverpool side lost 2-1 at Molineux in last season's FA Cup third round but they will not be taking this week's challenge lightly and should chalk up another victory.

Klopp's men will not be everyone's cup of tea as odds-on favourites, but the price can by boosted by backing a Liverpool win and under 3.5 goals, which has been a successful wager in ten of the Reds' last 12 matches.
