Team news

West Ham
Declan Rice and Aaron Cresswell return after serving bans in Thursday's Europa Conference League tie. Craig Dawson is a doubt so Thilo Kehrer could be handed a Premier League debut.

Brighton
Pervis Estupinan is in contention to make his debut while Jakub Moder is the Seagulls' only absentee.

Match preview

West Ham still await their first Premier League goal of the season following losses to nil against Manchester City and Nottingham Forest, and another tough test lies in wait at home to Brighton.

The Hammers can be excused a 2-0 defeat to City on the opening weekend of the campaign but they were punished for being wasteful in the 1-0 reverse at Forest, having bossed the shot count, twice hitting the woodwork while squandering a second-half penalty.

The slick Seagulls, meanwhile, have four points to show from their opening two assignments as they followed up a 2-1 win at Manchester United with a goalless draw at home to Newcastle.

On another day Brighton mighthave been celebrating success over the Magpies as they forced seven shots on target to the visitors’ one, again illustrating why many feel they should be raiding the transfer market for a new striker.

But Graham Potter has his side well set up to play strong opposition on their travels and it is easy to envisage this pair cancelling one another out, just as they have done in six of their last seven Premier League meetings.
