Team news
West Brom
Jake Livermore serves the second game of his three-match suspension.
Leeds
Diego Llorente (muscle strain), Adam Forshaw (hip), Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch (knee) and Liam Cooper (abdominal strain) are sidelined.
Match preview
Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa places a huge emphasis on fitness and there should be enough energy left in the tank for his side to overcome struggling West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Playing two games in three days is a tough ask and Bielsa is usually reluctant to make changes unless he is forced to by injuries or suspensions.
His defensive options are severely restricted by injuries to Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper but Leeds dug out a 1-0 victory at home to Burnley on Sunday, keeping a clean sheet for the first time this month. They should fancy their chances against the Baggies, who are 19th with eight points from 15 games.
Albion have appointed survival specialist Sam Allardyce as they strive to preserve the top-flight status they fought so hard to achieve.
And the first signs of Allardyce's influence were evident at Liverpool on Sunday when West Brom shrugged off the loss of an early goal and battled back to claim a shock 1-1 draw.
Holding the champions will have given West Brom a massive boost but it will soon be forgotten if they fail to defeat Leeds and make some serious inroads on the sides above them.
Allardyce will be striving for a victory and could recall classy attacking midfielder Matheus Pereira, who came off the bench to assist Semi Ajayi's equaliser at Anfield.
But there are sure to be a few tired legs in the camp and any drop in standards could be seized upon by Leeds, who look worthy favourites.
Key stat
West Brom have kept only one clean sheet in their last ten matches.
