Team news
Tottenham
Gareth Bale (knee) is ruled out but new signing Sergio Reguilon is in full training and could feature for the first time.
Newcastle
Ciaran Clark (thigh) is out while Allan Saint-Maximin (ankle) and Jamal Lewis (eye) are doubts.
Match preview
Tottenham responded to their disappointing 1-0 loss to Everton with three successive victories and can overcome Newcastle in an entertaining encounter in north London.
Gareth Bale's second coming at Spurs will have to wait until next month but Tottenham's other attacking stars, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, are getting back to their best.
The duo destroyed Southampton last Sunday, when Son netted four times and Kane supplied a goal and four assists.
And they were both on target on Thursday as Spurs advanced to the Europa League playoff round with a 3-1 success away to North Macedonian champions Shkendija.
Given Tottenham's crazy schedule - they face four matches in the next eight days - Jose Mourinho will have to pick and choose when to utilise his top players.
However, the Premier League will be the top priority and that could be bad news for Newcastle because Kane is just 5-6 to continue his scoring streak while Son is no bigger than 6-4 to find the net.
Newcastle triumphed 1-0 at Tottenham last season with a defensive-minded performance but, having signed Bournemouth duo Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser this summer, they have better attacking options.
Newcastle's results have been a mixed bag - they deservedly won 2-0 at West Ham before crashing to a 3-0 loss at home to Brighton.
But there is already evidence that they are playing more positively on the road and they could score against Spurs, although it may not be enough to avoid a second successive league defeat.
Key stat
Both teams have scored in four of Tottenham's last five matches.
