Match preview

Tottenham's season appeared to be petering out after they failed to have a shot on target at struggling Bournemouth but they have been galvanised by their victory over Arsenal.

Toby Alderweireld's winner has lifted the gloom and even though the Gunners looked the better team in the second half, the win was a big psychological boost for Jose Mourinho's men.

They were still riding the wave when they won 3-1 at Newcastle on Wednesday and suddenly the Europa League looks their most likely destination.

The same can be said of Leicester after some uninspiring post-lockdown performances, the embodiment of which was their 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

Their performance at Dean Court went south after the dismissal of defender Caglar Soyuncu, which gave the final score a flattering look, and they at least steadied the ship with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United.

A place in the Champions League has not slipped completely from their grasp and while they have not won any of their last seven matches on the road, they have scored in 13 of their last 15 away games.

The Tottenham defence has been more assured since Alderweireld returned in place of the suspended Eric Dier, but Spurs still look vulnerable to pace.

Jamie Vardy has rediscovered his scoring touch with four goals in as many games. He is just the sort of player Spurs won't want to face and the former England striker looks a good each-way bet to open the scoring.

Key stat

Both teams have scored in six of their last seven meetings.
