Everything points to this being close to a free hit for Tottenham with Leicester's focus solely on Thursday's trip to Rome – and after a pair of blanks Antonio Conte's men can get back on the goal trail.

Spurs looked short of ideas in their 1-0 home loss to Brighton and not much more imaginative in last weekend's 0-0 draw at Brentford.

But Leicester's approach, never mind the resting of some key personnel, ought to encourage Tottenham.

It's worth remembering that while they drew two blanks, they had bagged 26 goals in their previous seven matches and seemed to be on a weekly mission to run riot.

Conte, consistently critical of his options, is likely to stick with familiar names and back them to produce against a Leicester side who have drawn five of their last eight and have little interest in anything other than the second leg of their Europa Conference League semi at Roma.
