Thomas Frank is 11-2 to win a trophy in his first season in charge of Tottenham after the Danish coach was confirmed as Ange Postecoglou's successor on Thursday evening.

Frank, who makes the move to Spurs after almost seven years as Brentford manager, has signed a three-year deal to take charge of the north London club after they parted company with Postecoglou last month despite the Australian guiding them to victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final.

William Hill believe immediate success is unlikely for the new Tottenham manager, making it 11-2 that he lands a trophy in his first season – excluding the European Super Cup against Champions League winners Paris St-Germain, for which Spurs are 16-5 outsiders.

Hills have priced up a number of Frank specials involving his old club – he is 5-2 to do the double over Brentford, while it's 16-1 for the Bees to win both league meetings.

Spurs are 66-1 for the Premier League title, 40-1 to win the Champions League and 9-2 for a top-four finish, while those expecting Frank to struggle in north London can back them at 40-1 to be relegated.

Will Thomas Frank be a success at Spurs?

It has been a long time since an incoming Spurs boss has had the pressure of following someone who won a trophy in the previous season, but that is exactly the position former Brentford boss Frank finds himself in.

Frank gained plenty of  plaudits for his work at Brentford, where he overachieved on a small budget, helping the Bees to post two top-half finishes in the last four Premier League seasons.

There is no guarantee his style will translate to success at a side with bigger names and more funds – Brentford's business was led by data and some of Frank's success could be attributed to an excellent scouting team – but he has a young squad to work with at Spurs, so he may be able to shape the team his way.

While Postecoglou was able to deliver a trophy via the Europa League, Frank will have his work cut out as Spurs will take on Europe's heavyweights in the Champions League next season, so more continental success is likely to prove beyond them. The domestic cups will provide Spurs' most likely chance for further silverware.

Who is favourite to be Brentford's next manager?

Brentford, whose star men Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo look set to follow Frank out of the door this summer, are a best-price 11-2 for the drop.

Former Ireland international Keith Andrews, who has been set-piece coach at the club since July 2024, has been installed as 4-9 favourite to replace Frank with bet365.

Kieran McKenna, still highly regarded despite being relegated with Ipswich last season, is 7-4, while Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen, is 10-1
