Preview

A clash between the inconsistent pair of Tottenham and Manchester United is the highlight of Saturday’s reduced Premier League schedule.

With Harry Kane’s form rightly receiving plaudits in recent weeks, fellow attacking threat Heung-Min Son has flown somewhat under the radar.

The South Korean has two goals and two assists in his last four games and appears to be relishing the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski, who has added balance to Spurs’ front three.

Son has a habit of scoring in big games, netting against Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal this year and has three in his last three games against Manchester United.

Odds of 21-10 about the forward adding to that tally could underestimate him.

In the same game, Bruno Fernandes could influence the contest more in his natural position after the failed experiment of playing the attacking midfielder as a false nine against Manchester City.

Fernandes has the third-highest total of expected assists in the Premier League this season with 7.9 and is the only player managing to keep pace with Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold

His return of just six assists indicates his teammates’ finishing has been letting him down, but he looks overpriced to lay on a goal at 3-1.

In the 3pm kick-off between Brentford and Burnley the away side are fancied on the card handicap.

These teams have similar numbers of bookings this year, 52 and 49 respectively, but teams playing against Burnley have been booked just 29 times in 26 games compared to 41 for Brentford’s opponents.

That is probably due to the Clarets’ reputation as a physical team and the fact that apart from Maxwel Cornet and Dwight McNeil they lack the tricky players who tend to draw fouls.

In this crucial relegation clash the away side look likelier to fall foul of the referee.
