Betting preview

Jurgen Klopp will be glad to have all of his attacking options back from national duty in one piece after Mo Salah and Sadio Mane faced off over a gruelling 210 minutes of World Cup playoffs. To add to that Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota both turned out for their countries in two key games over the break.

A player who played no part in with his national team is Roberto Firmino, who rested up on Merseyside after not being selected by already-qualified Brazil. Liverpool face a daunting set of fixtures in the next month so Firmino is likely to feature prominently against Watford and is fancied to score at 23-20.

Leeds are on the brink of a historic season in one category alone, yellow cards. The Whites have picked up 90 already this campaign, 22 clear of Newcastle in second place, giving them a shot at breaking the single-season Premier League record of 94 with seven games to spare.

As a result it is a surprise to see them priced up as outsiders for most booking points against Southampton, who have picked up a measly 54 yellows by comparison.

Leeds have had the most booking points in all four of Jesse Marsch’s games in charge, including last time out when Wolves had Raul Jimenez sent off. The combative Kalvin Phillips is also due to return so the 13-10 for the Whites to have most booking points looks generous.

Aston Villa have had a persistent problem with the ball played in the channel between their centre-back and full-back this season and Daniel Podenece could be the perfect person to exploit it for Wolves.

Podence will be able to pick up pockets of space between the Villa centre halves and their high full-backs and could cut one back for his teammates to finish. The 5-1 for him to register an assist appeals.

In the late kick-off between Leicester and Manchester United there looks likely to be plenty of goalmouth action. Both teams rank in the top five for shots on target allowed and in the top eight for shots on target taken. The reverse fixture saw 17 shots on target and 11 or more is the fancy here at 11-8.
