Premier League champions Manchester City dropped their first points of the 2022-23 season but it could have been worse for the Citizens, who had to come from 3-1 to claim a pulsating 3-3 draw at Newcastle on Sunday.

Ilkay Gundogan had given the visitors the perfect start with a goal in the fifth minute and Newcastle, 8-1 at kick-off, traded at 20-1 in-play before rallying to lead 3-1 thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier.

At that stage, Eddie Howe's side were 1-4 to seal a shock victory over 12-1 City but the champions fought back through Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva strikes.

Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope produced a series of fine saves to deny the visitors maximum points although City remain 4-9 favourites for the title before Liverpool's trip to Manchester United on Monday.

Chelsea are out to 22-1 to win the league following Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Leeds, where Blues centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off late on.

Leeds had been 5-1 for victory at Elland Road but they belied those odds, taking the lead through Brenden Aaronson after an error from Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in the 33rd minute and swiftly extending their advantage through a Rodrigo header.

Jack Harrison wrapped up the points with a second-half goal and the 3-0 Leeds correct score was matched at 279-1 on the Betfair Exchange.

Brighton caused a minor upset in Sunday's other top-flight game, winning 2-0 at West Ham, who are bottom of the table after starting the season with three straight defeats.
