Brighton vs Fulham predictions
Fulham head coach Marco Silva insists that the club have been passive in their efforts to strengthen their squad - goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte is their only summer signing from Montpellier – and the need to reinforce could be made evident with defeat at Brighton.
The Seagulls, in stark contrast, don’t want to stand still and have been spending wisely under Fabian Hurzeler, who created a strong impression in his first season at the Amex as his side finished strongly to end the campaign in eighth.
Brighton picked up 13 points from their final five league outings, which was capped off with victories over Liverpool and Tottenham, and they were a force to be reckoned with on home soil.
Not only did Brighton take down champions Liverpool at the Amex, but they toppled Chelsea and Manchester City last season while holding Arsenal and Newcastle to draws.
The Seagulls also won 2-1 when entertaining Fulham in March and the Cottagers closed out last season’s away campaign with four defeats from their final six matches.
Brighton vs Fulham team news
Brighton: The only players confirmed as not available are long-term absentees Adam Webster and Solly March. Carlos Baleba is expected to be available despite being the centre of transfer speculation but new signing Charalampos Kostoulas is lacking match sharpness and Julio Encisco is a doubt.
Fulham: Antonee Robinson is still recovering from injury and this weekend comes too soon for him, but Ryan Sessegnon is expected to be fit.
Brighton vs Fulham predicted line-ups
Brighton (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, De Cuyper; Ayari, Baleba; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck.
Fulham (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.
Brighton vs Fulham key stat
Both teams scored in seven of Brighton’s final eight league games last season.

Sunderland vs West Ham predictions
Sunderland are back in the Premier League after an eight-year absence and have been splashing the cash over the summer in a bid to ensure that their stay in the top-flight is not short-lived.
The Black Cats have seen 11 fresh faces arrive at the Stadium of Light, with their total spend surpassing £130m, but there remains a degree of uncertainty on how they will fare having earned promotion via the Championship playoffs.
West Ham could be one of the sides that Sunderland have to outperform if survival is to be a realistic target and Regis Le Bris’s side are set to be roared on by a sell-out home crowd.
A positive atmosphere and the current feelgood factor surrounding the club could be the lift that Sunderland need and West Ham have things to prove themselves.
The Hammers finished 14th last season, winning only two of their final 11 games, and there remains a heavy reliance on Jarrod Bowen to provide their attacking spark.
Sunderland vs West Ham team news
Sunderland: Chelsea loanee Marc Guiu is an early doubt while fellow new signing Arthur Masuaku is unlikely to be fit enough to face his former club. Luke O'Nien, Aji Alese, Leo Fuhr Hjelde, Dennis Cirkin and Romaine Mundle are all out injured.
West Ham: El Hadji Malick Diouf, Kyle Walker-Peters, Callum Wilson and Mads Hermansen are all in contention to make their debuts, alongside academy graduate Freddie Potts who has impressed in pre-season. However, Crysencio Summerville and George Earthy are sidelined.
Sunderland vs West Ham predicted line-ups
Sunderland (4-2-3-1): Roefs; Hume, Seelt, Balland, Mandava; Xhaka, Diarra; Adingra, Le Fee, Talbi; Isidor.
West Ham (3-4-2-1): Areola; Todibo, Kilman, Aguerd; Wan-Bissaka, Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Diouf; Bowen, Paqueta; Fullkrug.
Sunderland vs West Ham key stat
Sunderland lost only four of their 24 home games in the Championship last season.

Tottenham vs Burnley predictions
Tottenham came up just short in Wednesday’s Super Cup showdown with European champions Paris St-Germain but there were promising signs from Thomas Frank’s men and they can grind out victory in their Premier League opener against a dogged Burnley.
Spurs led 2-0 after 84 minutes and were seconds away from clinching an impressive victory before substitute Goncalo Ramos headed in a 94th-minute equaliser for the Parisians.
The Europa League winners lost the penalty shootout but it was good preparation for the new season and they should be too strong for the Clarets, providing that they can find a way through their low block.
Burnley relied on a steely defence to secure promotion from the Championship last season as they conceded only 16 goals in 46 games, which included a run of 12 straight clean sheets.
However, the Clarets scored just 69 goals - 26 fewer than champions Leeds - and seven of their 28 wins ended 1-0, hinting at a lack of attacking quality now upped in grade.
So defence is likely to be the best form of attack for Scott Parker’s side and they may have to settle for a narrow defeat.
Tottenham vs Burnley team news
Tottenham: Yves Bissouma will return to the squad after being dropped for the Super Cup for disciplinary reasons but Destiny Udogie remains unavailable and Dominic Solanke may not be fit to start. James Maddison, Radu Dragusin, Bryan Gil and Dejan Kulusevski face long spells out with injury.
Burnley: Zeki Amdouni and Benson Manuel are long-term absentees and Zian Flemming and Jordan Beyer must be assessed. Connor Roberts and new signing Martin Dubravka are expected to shrug off pre-season niggles.
Tottenham vs Burnley predicted line-ups
Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bentancur; Kudus, Sarr, Odobert; Richarlison.
Burnley (4-2-3-1): Dubravka; Walker, Esteve, Ekdal, Hartman; Cullen, Ugochukwu; Edwards, Hannibal, Anthony; Foster.
Tottenham vs Burnley key stat
Four of the last six meetings between these sides have featured exactly one goal.
