Saturday's betting preview

A move to a 4-4-2 formation and the reinvigoration of Roberto Firmino have improved Liverpool's performances, and with Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota set for long spells on the sidelines, Firmino should continue to play a big part to play for the Reds.

The Brazilian has scored eight times in 13 games in all competitions this season and can have another big impact against a Nottingham Forest defence who have conceded 23 goals, the second-most goals in the Premier League.

The 6-4 with bet365 about Firmino finding the scoresheet makes plenty of appeal.

Something that has been lost in the debate about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defending is that he is yet to register an assist in the Premier League this season, despite averaging 11 a season over the last four campaigns.

However, the right-back seems to be adjusting to his team’s new system as he returns from injury and his playmaking ability means that assists are likely to return sooner rather than later.

Alexander-Arnold registered an expected-assists tally of 0.4 in their midweek clash with West Ham, indicating that he could be on the verge of returning to his usual creative self.

The 5-2 about the defender registering an assist against Forest looks a solid proposition, particularly given Forest’s weakness in defending set pieces. No team in the top flight have conceded more from set plays than Steve Cooper’s side.

Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye are a combative central midfield partnership for Everton and both have shown a predisposition for big tackles in the middle of the park, something that could land them on the wrong side of the referee.

The pair have six yellow cards between them in just 13 starts and in what looks likely to be a tight and competitive game against Crystal Palace, they are both fancied to pick up a card.

The Eagles have suffered 163 fouls this season, the most in the Premier League, and a few errant challenges could earn both Onana and Gueye a booking, or worse.
