Arsenal battled back to claim a 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday but the Gunners are still not guaranteed Champions League football next season.

Champions Liverpool eased into a 2-0 first-half lead and were trading at 1-12 in-play before Mikel Arteta's men hit back after the break through Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino.

However, Arsenal's charge was halted when Merino was sent off in the 79th minute and they survived a late scare as Andy Robertson's injury-time effort was disallowed for a foul.

Newcastle took a big step towards Champions League qualification thanks to their 2-0 victory over top-five rivals Chelsea at St James' Park.

The Magpies were cut from 1-4 to 1-20 to make the top five after goals from Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes saw off the Blues, whose striker Nicolas Jackson was sent off in the first half.

Newcastle's next assignment is a trip to Arsenal. Eddie Howe's men have won all three of this season's league and cup meetings with the Gunners to nil and they are 3-1 to beat their 10-11 hosts at the Emirates Stadium next Sunday.

Chelsea, this season's Conference League finalists, face a battle to secure Champions League football next term and they are 8-13 to make the top five with Manchester City 1-14 and Aston Villa 5-4.

Nottingham Forest are out to 5-1 after dropping points in a disappointing 2-2 home draw with relegated Leicester.

Both English representatives in the Europa League final suffered 2-0 home league defeats as Manchester United lost to West Ham and Tottenham were beaten by Crystal Palace.

United have slipped to 16th in the table with Spurs 17th – at the start of the season both clubs were priced up at 8-1 to finish in the bottom half.

They meet in the Europa League final in Bilbao on May 21 and bookmakers anticipate a tight contest with United 5-6 to lift the trophy and Spurs 21-20.

Eberechi Eze's brace gave Palace a morale-boosting win at Tottenham before next weekend's FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The Eagles are 11-5 to lift the trophy and City are 2-5 while Eze is 12-1 with bet365 to score first at Wembley.

The England international opened the scoring in Palace's FA Cup quarter-final and semi-final wins as well as in last month's 5-2 league defeat to the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium.
