Team news
Norwich
Tim Krul (covid), Grant Hanley (shoulder) and Ozan Kabak (ankle) have joined Matthias Normann, Andrew Omobamidile and Milot Rashica on the sidelines but Josh Sargeant and Christos Tzolis (both illness) are back in contention.
Arsenal
Takehiro Tomiyasu picked up a knock during last Saturday's 4-1 win at Leeds, Calum Chambers (COVID-19) is self-isolating and Sead Kolasinac (ankle) remains unavailable.
Match preview
Arsenal were involved in a pair of entertaining victories in the run up to Christmas – winning 4-1 at Leeds and 5-1 at home to Sunderland – and the high-scoring trend could continue when they take on Norwich at Carrow Road.
The Gunners have made excellent progress in the Premier League and the EFL Cup, winning nine of their last 12 games in both competitions, and are odds-on favourites to topple the rock-bottom Canaries.
However, it may be worth pausing before considering a lumpy wager on Mikel Arteta's side, who are far from reliable on their travels.
Arsenal have been defeated on five of their nine Premier League road trips, including a recent 2-1 loss at struggling Everton, who had gone into the contest on an eight-game winless sequence.
The Gunners' inconsistency in away games has been largely down to poor defending.
They have conceded 17 away goals - the fifth highest in the division - and a clean sheet could elude them against Norwich, who have perked up since Dean Smith's November arrival.
Norwich's have taken five points in six games under Smith, which might seem unremarkable, but their performances were of a decent standard until they had to send out a severely depleted team for the 2-0 at home to Aston Villa last time out.
Three days previously they had impressed in a harsh 1-0 loss at home to Manchester United when David De Gea's excellence and a controversial penalty award tipped the scales in United's favour.
The Canaries should have a few more players available for the visit of Arsenal and they can play their part in a high-scoring game.
