Match preview
Toby Alderweireld's winner against Arsenal lifted Tottenham spirits off the floor on Sunday, but their form on the road remains a concern and they face another tough examination at Newcastle.
Just when many questioned if Spurs could cope with their new home surroundings, Jose Mourinho's side have mustered just three league away wins all season and been successful in just one of their last eight on the road.
Defensive efficiency is the cornerstone of Mourinho's philosophy but Tottenham are simply not creating enough chances to be considered worthy of support at odds-on at St James' Park.
They were unable to muster a single shot on target against relegation-threatened Bournemouth in their most recent away game, a dreadful goalless draw at Dean Court.
And while a winner from a set-piece was a collector's item for supporters who grew used to watching Christian Eriksen fail to beat the first man from corners, Arsenal's Sead Kolasinac could claim the assist for Heung-Min Son's equaliser against the Gunners.
Newcastle, meanwhile, will be delighted at not being in trouble this year. They are unbeaten in three home league games since the restart, even though they would have been disappointed to have been held to draws by strugglers Aston Villa and West Ham.
A 2-0 FA Cup defeat by Manchester City has been the only home disappointment in their post-lockdown matches and they are not the only ones to have suffered in that regard.
They have been guilty of failing to create enough chances too, so it would be no surprise if the game proved a scrappy affair.
Key stat
Only Watford, Aston Villa and Norwich have won fewer Premier League away games than Tottenham's three this season
