Liverpool to win

Liverpool readily brushed aside Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford last season, before beating them again 4-0 at Anfield, and even accounting for injuries the Reds should come out on top.

Liverpool are yet to register a league win this season but their struggles can't be compared to the crisis at United, whose opening two games have seen them lose 2-1 to Brighton and 4-0 at Brentford. The Red Devils are a long-term project and should be outclassed by last term's runners-up.

Over 2.5 goals

United's defensive flaws mean there should be plenty of opportunities for Liverpool to rack up the goals but the visitors too are vulnerable to the counter-attack, so entertainment looks likely.

Brentford had seven shots on target against the Red Devils, while Brighton had 15 efforts on their visit to Old Trafford, which should be music to the ears of Mohamed Salah and co.

The last four competitive meetings between these rivals have seen over 2.5 goals and this clash can follow suit.

Luke Shaw to be shown a card

Luke Shaw was substituted at half-time of United's 4-0 hiding at Brentford last weekend but looks likely to start against Liverpool, making him an ideal candidate to be shown a card.

Shaw was one of seven bookings for United in the 5-0 reverse at home to Liverpool last season and the presence of Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold down the right flank puts added pressure on his left-back position.

The England international was cautioned eight times in just 20 games last term and was also booked in their home defeat to Brighton, so he could be set for a difficult evening.
