Team news

Manchester United
Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe are fit but striker Edinson Cavani (groin) is a doubt. David de Gea may return in goal after Dean Henderson's midweek error at Sheffield United.

Leeds
Summer defensive signings Robin Koch and Diego Llorente are out, as are Adam Forshaw and Gaetano Berardi.

Match preview

The stats scream goals when Manchester United host Leeds and recent trends also point to an away win so, given the tasty price about the visitors, it may pay to listen.

One of football's modern rivalries is resumed at Old Trafford although the absence of any fans means it is a straightforward shootout between a bunch of international superstars most of whom might think Giles, Bremner and Law is a firm of solicitors.

No one will be getting kicked from pillar to post and doubtless, much to Roy Keane's chagrin, they will even be shaking hands at the end.

But the happier of the two teams come the final whistle may well be the Leeds lads, who look overpriced given everything we know about the sides going into battle.

First, United the home United, that is, rather than the 'damned' one. The contrast between the form of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on home soil and on the road has gone beyond being a statistical blip and is becoming a cause for concern.

Unbeatable on their travels, the Red Devils simply can't buy a Premier League win – or score a goal from open play, for that matter – in front of their own empty stands.

Incredibly, they have won only one of their last eight home games in the Premier League, and that was courtesy of a retaken Bruno Fernandes penalty against struggling West Brom.

In fact, 460 minutes (and three months) have elapsed since United last scored a home league goal from open play Donny van de Beek's consolation in the 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

It's a dismal record and completely in contrast to results achieved on the road where Solskjaer's men have often ridden their luck – notably at Brighton, Southampton and West Ham – but somehow have found ways to win.

They are a horribly inconsistent team who have made no appeal at odds-on all season long and that continues to be the case.

As for Leeds, they too are inconsistent but at 18-5 are well worth chancing. Marcelo Bielsa's men have had an extra 24 hours to get ready for this fixture after thumping Newcastle 5-2 on Wednesday when Patrick Bamford grabbed his ninth goal of an incredible season.

They have won three times on the road this term, at Sheffield United, Aston Villa and Everton, and are eye-catching whenever they play.

That entertaining style often means a porous defence, however, and Leeds are shipping far too many goals – 24 in 13 league matches since their return to the top flight.

They are also being easily outjumped at set-piece situations which makes home skipper Harry Maguire one to consider in anytime or first-goalscorer betting.

Key stat

Manchester United have not led at half-time in any of their six home Premier League matches this season.
