Manchester City
Sergio Aguero will not feature but Gabriel Jesus made a goalscoring return as a substitute in Tuesday's 3-0 success at home to Olympiakos.
Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho remain sidelined.
Match preview
Liverpool have been coping admirably without defensive kingpin Virgil van Dijk and can pass their biggest test since the Dutchman's knee injury by holding Manchester City to a draw at the Etihad.
Keeping City quiet would be a tough challenge with or without Van Dijk but Liverpool approach the game on a high after Tuesday's outstanding 5-0 victory away to Atalanta.
The Reds were utterly ruthless in Bergamo, picking apart a side who were Champions League quarter-finalists in August, but Jurgen Klopp may be considering one or two key changes to give his team the best possible chance against City.
Klopp will have been delighted with the efforts of 19-year old centre-back Rhys Williams, who impressed on his first Champions League start.
But Williams is yet to feature in the Premier League and the wait may continue if Joel Matip, an unused substitute in midweek, is fit enough to return.
The other major dilemma facing Klopp is whether to persist with midweek hat-trick hero Diogo Jota or recall Roberto Firmino.
Jota has taken to life at Liverpool with ease and his confidence will be sky-high. But Firmino is ultra-reliable on the big occasions and his physical presence and link up play could be crucial in a game where Liverpool would expect to see less of the ball.
Liverpool's attacking options could give them an advantage because Pep Guardiola remains without Sergio Aguero and is unlikely to start Gabriel Jesus, who returned from a six-week layoff when coming off the bench to score in a 3-0 victory at home to Olympiakos on Tuesday.
Ferran Torres could feature for the third successive game but the absence of an out-and-out striker from the starting 11 could make Liverpool's task slightly easier than it might have been.
City have been scoring freely in the Champions League but Premier League goals have been harder to come by and the Citizens' nine-goal tally is 15 fewer than they had managed at the same stage of the 2019-20 campaign.
Kevin De Bruyne's early-season injury problems didn't help and there have been more positives recent signs from the brilliant Belgian, who has provided the assists for five of City's last seven goals.
De Bruyne will go on providing magical moments and is the player City rely on more than any other to deliver a serious title challenge.
However, it is a while since City delivered a truly convincing Premier League performance and, if they remain short of top gear, there is every chance of Liverpool picking up a decent result.
Key stat
Manchester City's last four Premier League matches have featured under 2.5 goals
