Match preview

The pressure is mounting on Brendan Rodgers at Leicester after a series of poor defensive displays and with the visit of well-organised West Ham, things may get worse before they get better.

The Foxes have leaked 20 goals in their last eight games in all competitions and Rodgers played two makeshift central defenders - Wilfred Ndidi and Daniel Amartey - over Caglar Soyuncu in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in midweek.

Only Burnley have conceded more shots per 90 minutes than Leicester and they top the table for shots on target allowed per match.

Wesley Fofana, Ryan Bertrand and Jonny Evans are out injured and the Foxes’ back four has a make-do-and-mend feel to it.

Rodgers’ side surrendered their lead against Tottenham in history-making fashion, giving away goals in the 95th and 97th minutes to lose 3-2.

A 1-1 draw with Brighton followed before the side were dumped unceremoniously out of the FA Cup by Championship side Nottingham Forest 4-1.

Star midfielder Youri Tielemans has added fuel to the fire by reportedly turning down a new contract offer, making it clear he wishes to leave in the summer.

All in all, the East Midlands team appear to be an unhappy camp and West Ham can take full advantage.

David Moyes’s men have had off-field issues to deal with but have ground out two important results following the winter international break.

The Hammers were far from their best against Kidderminster in the FA Cup but managed to pick up a win with late goals in both normal and extra time.

Back in the Premier League, the east London club squeezed past Watford 1-0 to keep their hopes of securing European football very much alive.

Jarrod Bowen netted the winner and has arguably been their player of the season, with 19 goals or assists in 34 games. The winger looks on the brink of an England call-up and his pace and trickery can cause issues for the Leicester backline.

Perhaps the most important factor for the Hammers this year has been a mostly settled first 11, in stark contrast to the enforced changes the Foxes have had to make throughout the season.

These two teams look to be travelling in different directions and the Hammers can pick up a win on their travels to add to Brendan Rodgers’ long list of issues.
