Match preview

There was plenty of late drama when Leicester and Brighton resumed their Premier League campaigns at the weekend and the pair should provide more entertainment when they meet at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.

Ben Chilwell put Leicester 1-0 up at Watford in the 90th minute but Craig Dawson equalised for the Hornets, while Brighton's Neal Maupay sealed a 2-1 home win over Arsenal in added time.

That could prove a crucial goal for the Seagulls, who had fallen behind to a 68th-minute Nicolas Pepe goal before Lewis Dunk scrambled an equaliser.

Graham Potter's men had been just two points above the relegation zone when the season was suspended, so they will have been delighted with the victory over the Gunners, especially as their survival rivals West Ham, Watford and Bournemouth all dropped points.

Brighton should be in a positive frame of mind for their trip to Leicester, which looks a slightly less daunting assignment than it did earlier in the season.

Brendan Rodgers' men made a blistering start to the campaign, enjoying a run of 12 wins in 14 games between August and December, and have banked so many points that they remain long odds-on for a top-four finish despite a wobble.

The Foxes played well at Vicarage Road but Dawson's late strike means they have won just two of their last nine league games.

There is no shame in losing 1-0 to Manchester City or drawing with Chelsea and Wolves, but that sequence has also included disappointing defeats to Southampton, Burnley and bottom club Norwich.

Rodgers still has a hugely talented squad and the break may work in Leicester's favour as they come back refreshed and eager to secure a Champions League spot.

But Brighton are battling hard at the other end of the table, as Arsenal discovered in an ill-tempered encounter at the Amex Stadium, and they can make their mark on the game.

Backing both teams to score looks the way to go as Leicester's defensive standards have slipped since their golden run in the autumn.

They have kept only one clean sheet in their last seven home matches and the Seagulls, while not prolific, pose a serious threat from set-pieces and through nine-goal top scorer Maupay.

Brighton have scored in ten of their 15 away matches this term, including trips to Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal, and they may well find the net again at Leicester.

Key stat

Brighton have drawn six of their last ten Premier League matches.
