Team news

Leicester City
This game will likely come too early for midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. Brendan Rodgers confirmed Ben Chilwell and Hamza Choudhury are in contention to play.

West Ham
Felipe Anderson is a doubt for the Hammers, as are Andriy Yarmolenko and Michail Antonio. Ryan Fredericks and Lukasz Fabianski are still sidelined.

Match preview

Defeat to Leicester marked the end of Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham tenure and his successor David Moyes could be in for a tough clash with the Hammers at the King Power Stadium.

Demarai Gray struck the decisive goal in December's 2-1 win after 56 minutes – the only goal scored after the break – and backing the Foxes to win the second half again could be a shrewd bet.

The brief honeymoon period is over for Moyes and there is plenty of work to be done at the London club as they prepare to face Liverpool home and away either side of a trip to Manchester City before the end of February.

They shipped a sloppy equaliser from a set-piece minutes after taking the lead in the 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday but generally they have looked tighter at the back under their new boss.

In the four matches under Moyes, West Ham have conceded only two goals, winning to nil against Bournemouth and Gillingham in his first two fixtures.

Issa Diop impressed with nine clearances and two blocks last time out and can marshal a defence capable of keeping Leicester at bay until the interval.

The Foxes have been slow starters anyway, leading at the break in only seven of their 23 league fixtures.

But they tend to come to life in the second half with their dynamic attack featuring Jamie Vardy and James Maddison able to use their pace to stretch the opposition.

Only Manchester City have a better record after the break than Leicester, who have won the second half in 14 of their games this term, and that punting strategy provides more value than taking the 4-7 about them winning the game.

It could be one of the aforementioned duo who opens the scoring for the Midlands outfit and Maddison looks the bet at the bigger price.

The former Norwich player was a nuisance for one claret-and-blue side at the weekend, winning four free-kicks against Burnley, making him the most fouled player at Turf Moor.

Maddison came on after 63 minutes in the reverse fixture, managing one shot on target, and no Leicester player completed more key passes in the game (two).

This time around he can cap his performance with a goal to add to his tally of six strikes in the league and nine in all competitions.

Key stat

West Ham have won only three of their 11 away matches in the Premier League this season.
