A West London derby rounds off Saturday's Premier League action, as Fulham host Brentford at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers go into the game following a slightly fortuitous 1-0 win over Leeds, while the Bees battled hard to claim a 2-2 draw against another local rival Chelsea  last Saturday.

Marco Silva's men did the double over Brentford last season and are worth backing to grab another victory here.

Fulham vs Brentford preview

The nights are drawing in, and with it, the TV companies' quest to fit the less marketable teams into their schedules truly begins.

If 8pm already feels late on a Saturday evening, remember that Fulham and Brentford played out two entertaining games last season and could steal some attention away from Strictly Come Dancing's opening night an hour or so up the road in Elstree.

Marco Silva's side sealed their first league win of the season by beating Leeds 1-0 courtesy of Gabriel Gudmundsson's own goal and are enjoying a decent early campaign, drawing 1-1 with Brighton and Manchester United, but also proving competitive in their 2-0 loss at Chelsea.

That defeat was their fifth in their last seven London derbies but they beat Brentford twice last season, when both results came by a single goal margin, including last November, when Harry Wilson's stoppage-time brace stole a 2-1 home win.

The Bees have performed better than predicted and will be buoyed by Tuesday's EFL Cup penalty shootout victory over Aston Villa.

Keith Andrews is outperforming expectations but his team have already lost at both Nottingham Forest and Sunderland.

Brentford's 1-0 league win over Villa and last week's excellent 2-2 draw with Chelsea suggest that their home form will be crucial to their survival hopes.

Fabio Carvalho's late equaliser against the Blues originated from a Kevin Schade long throw and dead balls are something to track at the Cottage, where Fulham are yet to concede from open play.

These are two well matched sides who played out two good games last season and will be targeting this type of fixture to pick up vital points as they aim for mid-table finishes or better.

Andrews has impressed, but as Fulham's win over Leeds showed, Silva is an underrated master at securing victories on these occasions, and his team can secure a second success of the season.

Lukic looks a likely card candidate

Matching last season's 12 yellow cards was always going to be difficult but Sasa Lukic's two cautions in four appearances suggest he is up to the task.

The Serb was also carded in his country's defeat to England and is always in the thick of the action.

Fulham by a familiar scoreline?

Fulham won last season's Craven Cottage renewal 2-1, before completing a double over the Bees by triumphing 3-2 at the Gtech.

Saturday's late game will be hard fought and a repeat 2-1 home win rates a handy price.

Fulham to win by one goal

The Cottagers triumphed by a single goal on both occasions these teams met last term.

Alex Iwobi to score or assist

Iwobi already has an assist this season and his tally of 37 attacking carries is the best among attacking players in the Premier League.

Igor Thiago to be booked

The fit-again Brazilian striker has applied more pressure than any other player in 2025-26. However, that work-rate has contributed to him receiving two yellows.
