Here are some of the best players to consider transferring in ahead of Gameweek 6

Gameweek six of the Premier League brings plenty of intrigue. Brentford host Manchester United in the Saturday early kick-off, before a headline Super Sunday clash at St James’ Park where Newcastle take on Arsenal

Here are five players to consider, ranging from short-term punts to mainstays for your team.

Iliman Ndiaye – £6.5m, 10% ownership

Iliman Ndiaye is the seventh-highest scoring midfielder in FPL this season, sitting just two points behind Mo Salah and at around half the price. His potential to keep delivering returns over the coming weeks makes him an appealing option.

Everton have won one and drawn one of their opening two games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and will be confident of extending that unbeaten record when they host West Ham in gameweek six. Ndiaye found the net in the home win over Brighton, and with Jack Grealish now operating out wide, the Senegal international is seeing plenty of chances fall his way.

The fixture list also strengthens his case. After West Ham, Everton's next two home matches are winnable fixtures against Crystal Palace and Tottenham and their away games, barring a trip to Manchester City, aren't too worrying as they head to Sunderland in gameweek ten and Man United in gameweek 12.

Gabriel – £6.1m, 22.9% ownership

A solid Arsenal defence lines up against a blunt Newcastle attack in gameweek six. The Gunners have conceded just two goals – one each to Manchester City and Liverpool – while Newcastle have scored only three times.

Arsenal also boast an excellent run of fixtures, with West Ham at home in gameweek seven followed by Burnley and Sunderland in gameweeks ten and 11.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Mikel Arteta’s side record clean sheets in at least four of their next six matches and, with the added bonus of his aerial threat from set-pieces, Gabriel looks the best defensive option in the game.

Tijjani Reijnders – £5.6m, 32.3% ownership

A Manchester City midfielder getting regular minutes for under £6m is a rare find in Fantasy Premier League, and it’s something managers should look to exploit.

Tijjani Reijnders has already returned 26 points this season. While ten of those came on the opening day, he was back among the points with an assist for Erling Haaland against Arsenal. Given the form of Haaland – another City asset who simply has to be in your squad – Reijnders should continue to get opportunities to provide.

Phil Foden offers another option but his minutes are far less secure than Reijnders’. His ceiling for goals and assists is higher when he does start, making him a classic risk-versus-reward pick.

Bukayo Saka – £9.8m, 4.2% ownership

A gamble, but one that could gain you a huge amount of points on your rivals given his low ownership status. Bukayo Saka came off the bench against Man City before playing 60 minutes at Port Vale in the week, meaning he is shaping as if he's prepared for his first league start since he scored in the 5-0 win over Leeds.

If he can begin to flourish a partnership with Viktor Gyokeres, his assist potential goes through the roof. His consistent corner deliveries that contributed to his 11 assists last season should also see him rack up plenty of points.

With appealing fixtures in the weeks ahead, this could be the perfect moment to get ahead of the curve.

Bryan Mbeumo: the solution to Manchester United's problems?

Bryan Mbeumo – £8.1m, 15.2% ownership

As a one-week punt, Bryan Mbeumo stands out as he faces his former club Brentford when Manchester United visit the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Cameroon international hit a career-best 20 goals for the Bees last season and has one to his name in five league appearances for United. He’ll be eager to improve that record and make a statement against his old side.

Looking beyond this weekend, United then host Sunderland, another favourable fixture that adds to Mbeumo’s short-term appeal.

All player prices and ownership percentages are subject to change.
