West Ham travel to Everton for Monday's Premier League fixture at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where Nuno Espirito Santo will take charge of the Hammers for the first time.

Nuno has replaced Graham Potter, sacked on Saturday after his West Ham side lost five of their first six league and cup matches this season.

Everton, under former Hammers boss David Moyes, lost 2-1 at Liverpool in their last league outing but they have made a solid start to life at their new ground.

Everton vs West Ham preview

Graham Potter told the media on Friday that he was "looking forward to changing the dynamic" after West Ham started the 2025-26 season with five defeats in six games.

Sadly for Potter, the club's hierarchy decided the best way to change that dynamic was by changing manager so Nuno Espirito Santo will lead the unhappy Hammers out against Everton on Monday.

Nuno's final game at Nottingham Forest was a 3-0 home defeat to West Ham – the only bright spot in a brutal start to the campaign for the Irons.

He was sacked by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during this month's international break and, while a swift return to top-flight management was too tempting to ignore, he faces a difficult task at West Ham.

Poor recruitment and ill-judged managerial appointments have stretched the patience of West Ham fans, who have seen their team beaten at home by London rivals Chelsea, Tottenham and Crystal Palace and thumped 3-0 at promoted Sunderland.

Former West Ham boss David Moyes returned to Everton on January 11, two days after Potter arrived at the London Stadium.

The Toffees cruised clear of the relegation zone under Moyes last season and they are settling in well at their new stadium, beating Brighton 2-0 before a goalless draw with Aston Villa.

Everton gave champions Liverpool a scare in their last fixture, losing 2-1 at Anfield, and in-form attacking midfielders Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye can inspire a victory over the Hammers.

Only one of the last 13 league meetings between these clubs featured more than three goals so backing Everton to win and under 3.5 goals looks a solid bet.

Magassa should add bite to Hammers' midfield

West Ham have been hampered by a lack of pace and energy in central midfield so Nuno may give a first Premier League start to summer signing Soungoutou Magassa.

The France Under-21 international looks a big price to be booked, having collected 12 yellow cards and one red in just 27 Ligue 1 starts for Monaco over the past two seasons.

Back Keane to exploit visitors' aerial weakness

Defending set-pieces has been another glaring weakness for the Hammers this term as they have conceded seven goals from corners in their first five league matches.

Moyes will be well aware of that vulnerability and centre-back Michael Keane, who had four attempts at goal in the 0-0 draw with Villa and another four in last week's 2-0 EFL Cup defeat at Wolves, is an eye-catching price in the goalscorer markets.

Second half to have most goals

Everton's first three games at their new stadium featured only one first-half goal and West Ham have scored just once before half-time in six games this season.

Over 3.5 cards

The Toffees' home games against Brighton and Aston Villa produced seven and six yellow cards and another feisty contest is expected on Monday.

Idrissa Gueye to have two or more shots

The Everton midfielder has racked up seven shots in his last three league appearances, including a goal in the derby defeat to Liverpool on September 20.
