Last week's 5-0 battering at home to Liverpool suggests new manager Claudio Ranieri has plenty of work to do at Watford and the Hornets could come unstuck against another Merseyside outfit at Goodison Park this weekend.

Watford were humiliated on their own patch last Saturday, when they saw only 23 per cent of the ball and allowed their opponents 19 shots, eight of which were on target.

They were toothless and have now lost five of their opening eight Premier League matches this season.

Everton have suffered a dip in form in the top flight but they have been without star forwards Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

And even with those players missing, they still comfortably saw off Norwich, took a point off Manchester United at Old Trafford and pushed West Ham close in a 1-0 defeat.

It should not take much to beat Watford at the moment and even an Everton team light on first-team personnel can get the job done.
