Everton v Manchester United tips, odds, betting and TV channel

Things haven’t gone smoothly for Manchester United since club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was confirmed as manager and the Red Devils could suffer another setback in their pursuit of a top-four finish at Goodison Park.

Solskjaer won ten of his first 11 games after taking over from Jose Mourinho but they have since lost five of their last seven matches, leading some to question whether the Norwegian is the right man to move the club forward.

United’s Champions League campaign ended in the quarter-finals on Tuesday with a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Barcelona and there is extra pressure on Solskjaer to get United into the top four.

But recent performances have been discouraging and four consecutive away defeats, including league losses at Arsenal and Wolves, must make them vulnerable in Merseyside.

Laboured 2-1 home wins over Watford and West Ham are also concerning. Watford created 20 chances to United's eight at Old Trafford, while West Ham enjoyed 58 per cent possession on their trip to Manchester and won the shot count 18-14.

Two Paul Pogba penalties bailed out the Red Devils against the Hammers and a reproduction of those efforts at Everton will see them punished.

The Toffees are a difficult side to catch right, but a showdown with a big-six rival at their beloved Goodison seems to be the winning formula.

Marco Silva's side have kept three home clean sheets in a row, beating Chelsea and Arsenal while frustrating rivals Liverpool in a goalless draw and if anything this looks easier.

The three-game ban to Andre Gomes leaves a huge hole to fill in the centre of the park but Tom Davies and former Red Devil Morgan Schneiderlin are able replacements.

The Toffees have played only two matches in April, compared to United's four, and are much the fresher for their bid to grab seventh spot.

Punters should also consider having a saver on Ashley Young to be shown a card. The ageing full-back has picked up 12 yellows this season, while also being sent off at Wolves earlier this month, and has struggled against pacy opposition.

With Luke Shaw suspended, Solskjaer may opt to start Young at left-back again, as he did against Barcelona, and he won’t have an easy time. Richarlison and Seamus Coleman are expected to team up down Everton’s right side and Young is likely to be under pressure.
