Team news

Crystal Palace
Patrick van Aanholt and Luka Milivojevic could return to the squad but Nathaniel Clyne is a doubt. Vicente Guaita may replace Jack Butland in goal.

Arsenal
David Luiz is out, but Granit Xhaka is likely to be fit and Arsenal have an otherwise clean bill of health.

Match preview

Arsenal have a slim chance of reaching the Europa League qualification spots, but it looks highly likely that next season will be the first time the Gunners have been without European football since 1995.

Selhurst Park will welcome 6,500 fans, in what is likely to be an emotional occasion after Palace boss Roy Hodgson announced that he is to step down at the end of the campaign.

Arsenal's Mikel Arteta is at the other end of his managerial career and the Spaniard is under increasing pressure at the Emirates.

Arsenal have lost 13 Premier League matches this term and they were dumped out of the Europa League by their former boss Unai Emery's new club Villarreal.

The Gunners recovered from their European exit with a 3-1 win over West Brom and then put in a spirited display in a 1-0 victory against Chelsea last week.

Arsenal’s defence is often criticised, but although there have been plenty of individual errors this term, they have conceded only 38 league goals. That’s fewer than Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Leicester, West Ham and Everton.

Palace looked sharp in Sunday's 3-2 win over Aston Villa, but the Eagles have scored only 19 home league goals this term and their small squad is being asked to perform again just three days later.

Hodgson deserves a warm sendoff for the excellent job he has done at Selhurst Park, but his side are unlikely to get that from Arsenal and the Gunners look a fair bet to win to nil.

Key stat

Only Chelsea (33) and Man City (29) have conceded fewer Premier League goals than Arsenal (38) this season.
