Chelsea vs Everton predictions

Everton are the Premier League's draw specialists – sharing the spoils in 14 of 33 top flight encounters – and could be involved in another stalemate to damage Chelsea's Champions League qualification hopes at Stamford Bridge.

The race for a top-five finish is extremely competitive with four points covering the teams between third and seventh.

Sixth-placed Chelsea are two points outside the top five and need to minimise mistakes during their tricky run-in which includes a home match against Liverpool and trips to rival top-five contenders Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea were rewarded for a never-say-die attitude at Fulham last Sunday when late goals from Tyrique George and Pedro Neto secured a precious three points, but they need to stay on the winning trail and are facing a far from straightforward task against 13th-placed Everton, who take pride in being tough to beat.

Everton have the luxury of a stress-free end to the season but were far from comfortable in early January when taking the decision to replace Sean Dyche with David Moyes in the dugout.

Moyes was warmly received at the club where he did so much good work in his first spell, but he inherited a difficult situation with the Toffees just a point outside of the relegation zone.

However, the 62-year-old had an established reputation for getting his teams organised and ultra-competitive and his impact on Merseyside was swift and remarkable.

Everton have lost just three of 14 league matches under the Scot, allowing the gap between themselves and the bottom three to widen to an unbridgeable 17 points.

Moyes's charges have been competitive in all of those games, including last week's 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City, when they succumbed to late goals from Nico O'Reilly and Mateo Kovacic.

Their second-half struggles against City were partly influenced by a hamstring injury to key central defender James Tarkowski, who is set to miss the rest of the season.

But Moyes has had a full week to work out a plan for Chelsea and it remains probable that his team will be typically tough to play against.

Chelsea are desperate to be dealing in victories during the run-in but they have lacked consistency in recent months with only six victories registered in their last 17 league games.

Enzo Maresca's side have posted back-to-back league wins only once in 2025 and they look opposable odds-on favourites.

Under 2.5 goals
The teams played out a goalless draw at Goodison Park in December and there is every chance of another low-scoring outcome.

Beto to commit at least two fouls
Centre-forward Beto gets through a mountain of work and often tests the patience of referees with his physical approach.

Idrissa Gueye to be carded
The industrious Toffees midfielder tops Everton's Premier League card count with eight and looks a solid selection for a caution at Stamford Bridge.
