Team news

Chelsea
Denis Zakaria has joined N'Golo Kante, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, Wesley Fofana, Armando Broja, Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the injured list and Joao Felix is suspended.

Crystal Palace
Tyrick Mitchell returns from suspension but James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson remain unavailable.

Match preview

Chelsea manager Graham Potter bemoaned his team's bad luck after the Blues were beaten 2-1 at Fulham on Thursday but there may be more misfortune in the way as Crystal Palace look capable of taking a point at Stamford Bridge.

There were positives for Potter to take from Chelsea's performance at Craven Cottage.

The Blues started and finished the game on the front foot and dominated the shot count 20 to eight despite the 58th-minute dismissal of Joao Felix.

But Felix's three-match ban piles on the agony for Potter, who has few options to change things around for a second fixture in four days.

Palace could not have picked a better moment to face Chelsea, but their confidence may be fragile after four losses in five games.

The Eagles lost 2-1 at home to Southampton in the FA Cup third round and could be content to stop the rot with a share of the spoils.
