Tottenham have not only weathered storms in Harry Kane’s absence they have positively flourished, and the impending return of the England captain will give the London club a massive lift as they prepare for a thorny trip to Turf Moor.

Whether Kane will be risked after six weeks out against a Burnley side who are famed for their no-nonsense approach is questionable. Chelsea away on Wednesday would seem a more obvious match to reintroduce him.

And anyway, with Heung-Min Son in sizzling nick there seems no obvious need to rush back their serial top scorer.

But the fact that Kane is fit and ready to go ahead of schedule is a massive plus for Mauricio Pochettino and the Tottenham faithful.

It adds to the positivity around the club and even allowing for the rock-solid form of their lunchtime opponents, Spurs are hard to oppose.

They are inevitably odds-on for the assignment given they have won all 16 of their Premier League matches against teams from outside the top eight, and have won four in a row minus Kane and Dele Alli.

They have, however, just been getting over the line during their current winning streak and should make punters wary of big bets at odds-on prices.

Burnley themselves, while fitting the profile of the kind of side Tottenham have been putting away this term, are one of only two teams who are unbeaten in the Premier League in 2019.

They are unbeaten in seven games with four wins and three draws and continue to be an unpleasant outfit to come up against.

This looks like it will be tight, and it could be decided by the odd goal. Spurs haven't had a Premier League draw this season and Tottenham to win by one goal at 11-4 gets the nod.

Three of Tottenham’s last four league matches have been won by one goal and but for a Jamie Vardy missed penalty that may well read four out four.

They will have been buoyed by that outstanding 3-0 romp past Dortmund in the Champions League and nicely rested after ten days off.

Burnley will test them with an aggressive approach which isn’t meant to sound insulting, there is clearly more to the Clarets’ game than simply strong-arm tactics.

But beyond the impressive current formguide, it has to be noted that Burnley’s form at Turf Moor isn’t sparkling. They have just four home wins all season and none against teams in the top nine. They also boast a fairly awful record against Tottenham, indeed against all of the big teams.

Spurs have defenders who won’t shirk from the physical threat posed by Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood, with old boy Peter Crouch offering a similar dimension from off the bench. There’s no real secret to the way Burnley go about their business and no reason to presume Tottenham cannot deal with it.
