Match preview

Goals tend to flow on the final day as defences relax but that may not be the case when Burnley host Brighton at Turf Moor.

Burnley won't want the season to end after losing just one of their last 15 matches. That loss was a 5-0 hiding at Manchester City in the first match back after the restart for Sean Dyche's side.

The Clarets have won four matches since - all to nil against Watford, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Norwich - while Dyche will have been delighted with the 1-1 draws against Liverpool and Wolves.

Only one of their last ten games has gone over 2.5 goals and that was when Burnley were taken to the cleaners by City on a rare occasion that goalkeeper Nick Pope was unable to be a heroic last line of defence.

Pope is alongside City's Ederson on 15 clean sheets and with the Golden Glove award up for grabs expect Burnley to go all-out to help the keeper claim the most shutouts honour.

Only Norwich, Crystal Palace and Watford have scored fewer than Brighton's 37 Premier League goals this season but Albion have managed to draw enough matches to stay in the top flight.

The Seagulls have shared the spoils in nine of their 17 league matches in 2020 and won only twice.

Of the last 12 games, eight finished with no more than two goals and the four exceptions came against Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and City who contributed 12 of the 15 goals.

Key stat

Brighton and Burnley's games both average 2.43 goals per game this season.
