Burnley finally showed some signs of life against Liverpool in midweek after an insipid start to their Premier League campaign and they could be facing Brighton at an opportune time.

The Clarets have been too easy to beat this year and have conceded the most goals in the top flight – but even in defeat to the Reds, they showed a grittiness that has been sorely lacking this season.

Brighton head to Turf Moor seeking a third straight win but they will be without key defender Shane Duffy and are sweating on the fitness of eight-goal Glenn Murray.

Midfielder Steven Defour (knee) is a doubt.
