Brentford
David Raya, Josh Dasilva, Zanka and Kristoffer Ajer all look likely to miss out through injury, while Mathias Jensen, Mads Soresen and Yoana Wissa are available.
Everton
Richarlison and Mason Holgate are out through suspension, joining Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies on the sidelines. Allan picked up a knock against Manchester City and is a doubt alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure and Demarai Gray.
Match preview
Brentford and Everton are two sides experiencing a major downturn in form having had bright starts to their Premier League campaigns.
The Toffees have been struck down with a number of injuries and are down to the bare bones once more with suspensions to Richarlison and Mason Holgate causing further havoc for manager Rafa Benitez.
With last season’s leading marksman Dominic Calvert-Lewin also still sidelined, Everton are lacking a cutting edge and since his absence have managed only two wins in ten games in all competitions.
There are also concerns in the centre of the park with Brazilian anchor Allan limping off in last weekend’s 3-0 loss at Manchester City while his usual centre midfield parnter Abdoulaye Doucoure is another expected to miss out.
Everton could have as many as ten first-team players unavailable for their trip to the capital and given their current circumstances it’s hard to see past attack-minded hosts Brentford.
The Bees were perhaps fortunate to get a point against Newcastle last time out but can build on that back at home, where they have beaten Arsenal and held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw this season.
The Bees find themseves without a win in five after last weekend’s thrilling 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park and a 2-1 loss to struggling Norwich in their most recent home outing was bitterly disappointing.
However, they dominated the shots stats 19 to nine against the Canaries and with more composure in front of goal the roles may have been reversed.
Thomas Frank’s side have not changed their attractive style of football and are fancied to bounce back from a series of poor results with a win as the pressure mounts on Benitez and his wounded squad.
While Everton, who managed only one shot on target at the Etihad last Sunday, look short on attacking talent at present, Brentford can call upon the services of Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo, who should get plenty of goalscoring chances against a defence who have conceded ten goals in four games.
