Bournemouth vs Fulham preview
Bournemouth stumbled out of the traps in their first two seasons under Andoni Iraola but a home win over Fulham on Friday would take them up to second in the Premier League.
The Cherries picked up just three points from Iraola's first nine games in charge in 2023-24 and won only one of their first six matches in all competitions last term.
This season's fine start includes narrow home wins over Wolves (1-0) and Brighton (2-1), a well-deserved 1-0 win at Tottenham and a goalless draw with Newcastle at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth's defensive excellence is a credit to Iraola and his coaching staff given that goalkeeper Kepa, centre-backs Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi and left-back Milos Kerkez all left in the summer.
They lost 4-2 at Liverpool on the opening night and needed a late goal from French youngster Eli Kroupi to earn a 2-2 draw at Leeds last weekend.
But they have been rock-solid in their other four games against ten-man Wolves, Tottenham, Brighton and Newcastle to xG figures of 0.37, 0.17, 0.62 and 0.15 according to the Understat website.
Fulham, like Bournemouth, have established themselves as a mid-ranking top-flight club although the Cherries' shrewd management and player recruitment means they have a higher ceiling than the Cottagers.
Marco Silva's men beat a poor Brentford side 3-1 in their last home game and took a third-minute lead at Aston Villa last weekend.
But goalscorer Raul Jimenez soon went off injured and Villa, who had scored only once in their first five league games, came back to win 3-1.
That was a frustrating result for Silva, whose side's first four league games all ended with under 2.5 goals, and a low-scoring Bournemouth win looks the best bet on Friday.
Bournemouth battler Adams set for busy shift
The central-midfield scrap should be lively with Fulham foul machines Sasa Lukic and Sander Berge up against Bournemouth battler Tyler Adams.
USA international Adams has picked up three yellow cards in six league starts this term and his Fulham counterpart Lukic has won 12 fouls in six games.
Andersen could rise to the occasion for visitors
Leeds centre-back Joe Rodon headed in the opening goal against Bournemouth last weekend while Jimenez nodded in a Lukic corner for Fulham at Villa Park.
The Cottagers' 6ft 4in defender Joachim Andersen looks overpriced to have a header on target. He had three attempts at goal in Denmark's September World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Greece and another two in Fulham's 2-0 loss at Chelsea.
Bournemouth vs Fulham Bet Builder
Bournemouth to win
The Cherries have made an impressive start to the season and they should stand firm against a depleted Fulham attack.
Sasa Lukic to be fouled two or more times
Fulham's Serbian midfielder has committed seven more fouls than any other Premier League player this season but he also wins an average of two fouls per game.
Josh King to have over 1.5 shots
Cottagers youngster King is thriving in the number-ten role and he has had five shots in his last two games against Brentford and Aston Villa.
