Race for the Premier League Golden Boot
Who is running away with the Premier League Golden Boot race despite not being in the top-ten average for most shots, smashing in a seriously high 68 per cent of his efforts on target and well ahead of his expected goal figures? It's ... Jamie Vardy.
The lively Leicester forward seems to have almost revelled in his wife Rebekah's public falling-out with Coleen Rooney, silencing the taunts from opposition supporters to shoot the Foxes up to second spot.
Vardy's 16-goal haul makes him a worthy favourite even if the soon-to-be 33-year-old begins to slow down. He is the focal point for Leicester and unchallenged as their primary striker as well as taking their penalties.
Back Sergio Aguero to find his scoring boots
However, any injury could change everything and there's still each-way money up for grabs, with nine-goal Sergio Aguero making most appeal.
Aguero, sidelined since November 23, is back in training and should soon return to Manchester City's starting 11.
The ace Argentinian marksman averages a goal every 90 minutes in this season's Premier League, plays for the most attack-minded side in the division and only Mohamed Salah is averaging more shots.
Salah and Sadio Mane, who are both alongside Aguero on nine goals, could continue to split the Liverpool goals and Marcus Rashford needs to find a way of picking up the cheap efforts which often decide Golden Boot battles. Eight of his ten have come against sides in the current top seven.
Harry Kane is evolving into more of a team player at Tottenham and no-one knows what will happen at Arsenal when their new manager arrives with a potentially different approach, which may or may not impact on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's positioning.
Tammy Abraham has played a healthy 1,232 minutes for his 11 goals, but the question will be whether he continues to get that support from Frank Lampard now the Blues boss is able to spend money in January following the end of Chelsea's transfer ban.
