Chelsea remain top of the Premier League after Liverpool and Manchester City missed the chance to leapfrog the Blues following their pulsating 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds opened the scoring through Sadio Mane midway through the second half and Kevin De Bruyne brought City level for a second time in the 81st minute but the game will be remembered for the two stunning goals in between.

Mo Salah made it 2-1 to Liverpool with a fantastic individual effort in the 76th minute to restore the home side's lead after Phil Foden had tied the game at 1-1 just seven minutes earlier.

Foden, who shared the man of the match honours with Salah, put the finishing touches to a fine City move but neither side could snatch a winner.

Champions City are 10-11 favourites to retain the title, with Chelsea next best at 9-4.

Liverpool remain the only unbeaten side in the top flight but are 4-1 shots to win the league with Manchester United fourth in the betting at 18-1 after they were held 1-1 at home to Everton on Saturday.

Sunday's early action saw Brentford move into the top half of the Premier League table after Yoane Wissa's 94th-minute goal gave them a 2-1 win at West Ham.

The promoted Bees had been 1-14 to finish in the bottom half at the start of the season but they have claimed an impressive tally of 12 points from their first seven games.

Tottenham are also on 12 points after they snapped a three-game losing streak in the league with a 2-1 home victory over Aston Villa. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg opened the scoring for Spurs but Ollie Watkins equalised in the 67th minute before Lucas Moura struck the winner just four minutes later.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are 5-1 to finish in the top four and Leicester are 12-1 after blowing a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Crystal Palace. First-half goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy put the Foxes in charge but Michael Olise and Jeffrey Schlupp hit back for the Eagles, who are 23-10 to be relegated.

The managerial position at Watford is once again vacant after the promoted Hornets sacked Xisco Munoz just seven games into the Premier League season.

Former Chelsea and Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri was swiftly installed as a long odds-on favourite to succeed Xisco after reports that the club had started negotiations with the Italian.

Xisco arrived at Watford last December and led them to automatic promotion as Championship runners-up to Norwich but the rapid turnover of managers at Vicarage Road meant that, at the start of the season, he was 13-2 favourite to be the first top-flight boss to leave his job.

The Hornets are 10-11 to be relegated and 14-1 to finish in the top half of the table.
