Matches from 3pm Saturday

Ayr United cannot stop scoring at the moment and they can win the battle of the form teams in Ladbrokes League One at Alloa.

Both sides have won five in a row in sparkling runs of form, but Ayr have the firepower to go and win at the Indodrill Stadium.

Ayr’s stats are hugely impressive. They’ve netted 65 goals in 21 games this season, 41 goals in 12 away games and when they have had to play on artificial pitches – like the one at Alloa – it hasn’t bothered them one bit.

They fired in six goals on plastic pitches at Annan Athletic and non-league Banks O’Dee in the William Hill Scottish Cup. And they’ve also netted five on the artificial surfaces of East Stirlingshire and Forfar.

In former Aberdeen striker Lawrence Shankland they have a goal machine in their ranks with his double last week taking his tally to 12 goals in just ten games since signing in September.

Alloa have recovered really well from a poor start to the campaign but they will have their work cut out stopping the Honest Men.

Elgin should make it a miserable journey north for Berwick Rangers with victory at Borough Briggs.

New boss Gavin Price appears to have transformed Elgin’s fortunes in Ladbrokes League Two and they came very close to earning a cup replay at second-tier Dumbarton last week.

Price’s side have won four out of their last six home games and can maintain their playoff push.

Ross County are worth taking a chance on at a big price to win at Hearts in the Ladbrokes Premiership. The Jambos are finally back at Tynecastle after a brief residency at Murrayfield but their problems remain with defensive-minded boss Craig Levein overseeing a limited.

Kyle Lafferty aside, Hearts look a very ordinary side and even struggling Partick managed to take a point from last week.

Owen Coyle has made an instant impact to County, who almost snatched a point from Celtic last week. They beat in-form Motherwell prior to that clash and could give Hearts a bloodied nose in front of their shiny new stand.
