Partick should hit back by beating Inverness
Saturday 3pm
Partick Thistle can bounce back from their cup heartache to inflict more pain on struggling Inverness.
Alan Archibald’s side were a big disappointment at Pittodrie last week against Aberdeen, yet they almost snatched an unlikely replay with the last kick of the ball.
That was most unlike Thistle, who have been in excellent form prior to that defeat and they will want to maintain their push for a top-six spot in the Ladbrokes Premiership with a better display against Caley Thistle.
The Highlanders have been truly dire for much of the campaign. They beat Rangers recently, but that was in Inverness and they have not won away in the league since October.
Keeper Owain Fon Williams has not looked comfortable and that seems to have affected the whole team. This week, Aaron Doran was ruled out for the season and that’s another kick in the teeth for Richie Foran’s men, especially with Ross Draper suspended.
The Harry Wraggs should be too strong for Inverness and can get the win.
Falkirk are unbeaten in 2017 and are starting to believe they can push Hibs for the Ladbrokes Championship title.
Peter Houston’s side now have strength in depth after an unspectacular start to the campaign. Last week, they dominated at Queen of the South and are keen to push on.
John Baird and Nathan Austin have formed a decent strike partnership and they have the best keeper in the league in Danny Rogers, with the on-loan Aberdeen shotstopper even called up for the full Ireland squad last year.
United are involved in a dogfight to avoid the drop after a horror run of going from October to almost the start of March without a league win and when they did eventually get it, it was against a Raith Rovers side who played an outfield player in goal.
Ayr gave a good account of themselves against Hibs last week, but the Bairns will be confident of departing Somerset Park with three points.
In-form Annan Athletic can make it five wins in a row at an oddly inflated price against Elgin City at Galabank.
Annan won at Montrose last week even without their talisman Peter Weatherson and with former Queen of the South manager Gavin Skelton pulling the strings in midfield, Annan have a strong squad at this level.
Elgin are a good side, but aren’t as strong away from their Borough Briggs home and Annan can grab another win.

Morton v Queen of the South
Ladbrokes Championship BBC Alba, 5.15pm
Morton are approaching a year without losing in the league at their Cappielow base and they are worth backing to get another victory tonight.
Jim Duffy’s side are a solid unit who are particularly strong in Greenock and should be fresh after a break last week.
Queen of the South had a tough midweek game in Dunfermline and haven’t been firing on all cylinders recently under Gary Naysmith after a poor defeat last week at home to Falkirk.

Morton 1pt 7-5 general
