Pars should fear their trip to Cappielow
Saturday 3pm
Morton will go a year unbeaten at home in the league if they can see off Dunfermline at Cappielow and that should be within their capabilities.
Jim Duffy’s side have enjoyed a terrific season in the Ladbrokes Championship and a large chunk of that success has been down to their superb home form in Greenock.
Morton aren’t too shabby on the road either as last week’s win at fellow promotion-chasers Falkirk proved.
With Hibs and Falkirk playing, a win against the Fife side would give Morton a huge boost in their bid to catch Hibs at the top of the table.
Dunfermline suffered a shock home defeat to Ayr United last week, which dragged them right into the relegation mix. A trip to Cappielow will be the last thing they want and Morton can get another win at their fortress.
Alloa can keep alive their slim hopes of winning Ladbrokes League One by beating Queen’s Park.
Jim Goodwin’s side have won five out of their last six and the only blot in their copybook in their recent run was a draw at East Fife, who themselves have been in good form.
A midweek win at Brechin will add to their confidence and they face a Hampden side who are inconsistent – the Spiders haven’t won in their last five games but have drawn their last three.
Goodwin has got his Wasps buzzing again after a shaky start to his management career and they will fancy their chances of another three points.
Stirling have won five games in a row, face a team who are in serious danger of finishing bottom of the Scottish League and are yet somehow written off as 13-5 no-hopers.
Albion’s visit to crisis club Clyde could be massive for both teams. The Bully Wee, who were managed by Barry Ferguson before he quit, have been dragged into a battle to avoid finishing bottom in Ladbrokes League Two, where they would face a playoff against the winners of the Highland League and Lowland League just to keep their place in the Scottish League.
Dave Mackay’s Albion have been going great guns and last week defeated in-form Annan, who had won four on the spin.
There’s nothing to suggest Clyde can halt their run in Cumbernauld.
