Primeira Liga
Kick-off 8pm Monday

Pacos Ferreira have played top-flight football since 2005 and can boost their chances of staying up this term by beating fifth-placed Rio Ave at Estadio da Mata Real.

Six of Pacos Ferreira's seven league wins have come on home soil but they are under huge pressure after sliding into the drop zone for only the second time this season.

The last time they were in the bottom two they responded with a remarkable 1-0 victory at home to Porto.

That success was just over two months ago but Pacos Ferreira failed to build on it and they returned to the bottom two eight days ago following a 1-0 loss at Boavista.

Pacos Ferreira have just two games left to save themselves and, given that they have lost 12 of their 16 away games they won't want to rely on winning Sunday's clash at Portimonense.

Only the top four teams qualify for Europe and the gap between fifth-placed Rio Ave and fourth-placed Braga is 28 points.

Rio Ave are 18 points superior to Pacos Ferreira but have struggled on their travels, collecting only 14 points from a possible 48.

On their last road trip Rio Ave lost 2-1 to a relegation-threatened Moreirense side, who had much more to play for.

That was Rio Ave's seventh successive away defeat and another reverse looks on the cards.
