It should not come as too much of a surprise to see Paco Alcacer joint-top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts.

After all, Alcacer is a Spanish international who once scored 13 goals in a La Liga season for Valencia, earning him a move to Barcelona, while his Borussia Dortmund side are top of the Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old is a proven forward playing for the leaders in an attack-minded championship so ten goals in early December is decent on paper. He reached double-figures on the same weekend as the man he replaced at Dortmund, Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, there has been nothing typical about the way Alcacer has reached his tally, which has come in a mind-boggling 281 minutes.

Thirteen of Dortmund's 37 goals this season have been scored by substitutes and nine of those have come from Alcacer, who equalled the Bundesliga seasonal record for goals off the bench last time out against Freiburg - and that was on December 1.

According to expected goals Alcacer is too hot, scoring six more goals than would normally be expected from chances created, but that won't stop Ruhr rivals Schalke shaking in their boots as soon as he starts warming up on Saturday.
