A string of challenging fixtures has left Rayo Majadahonda stuck in mid-table in the Spanish second tier and they could fall to another defeat against Real Oviedo.

The hosts, who are making their debut at this level, have suffered losses away to promotion contenders Granada and Malaga in recent weeks and have one win in their last four matches.

They claimed the scalp of Sporting Gijon last time out but have lost all five matches in which they have conceded first and could be unsettled by improving Oviedo.

The visitors have not lost a game this term when they have gone ahead and they put in a disciplined performance to beat a strong Albacete outfit 1-0 last time out.

Richard Boateng and Ramon Folch, who netted the winner in their last clash, have been reliable midfield mainstays for Oviedo and can help their side take a stranglehold of the game.

Majadahonda have been forced to host games at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano until the Estadio Cerro del Espino meets La Liga 2 standards and their home form has fluctuated.

They have kept one clean sheet in four games at their temporary base, and lost 4-1 against lowly-ranked Extremadura last month.

Oviedo won just four games on the road in 2017-18 but they have already beaten Cordoba and Lugo away this term and they can continue their playoff push against the league's new boys.
