Fortuna Dusseldorf were promoted to the Bundesliga over the weekend and Nuremberg can take a giant leap towards joining them by beating Eintracht Braunschweig at the Max-Merlon Stadion.

Nuremberg's advantage over third-placed Holstein Kiel was reduced to two points after they thumped Ingolstadt, denying the hosts an opportunity to seal promotion in this game.

However, it has only briefly put off the party and Nuremberg's crucial victory at Kiel last time out has set them up perfectly following a March wobble during which Der Club went five matches without a win.

Michael Kollner's outfit have won two of their last three and can make this a nervy finish to the campaign for Braunschweig, who are two points clear of the remaining relegation spot and one ahead of the drop-zone playoff.

Goals are a problem for the visitors - they have notched only 35 times this season - and the problem has been worse away from home with just two road triumphs.

Braunschweig boss Torsten Lieberknecht received a blow this week with the news that second-top scorer Christoffer Nyman, a Swedish international, will miss the remainder of the domestic season and the Lions could limp towards the finishing line.
