New York City have suffered just one away defeat in the MLS this season and look decent value to topple New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.

Last weekend was a missed opportunity for City, who surprisingly lost 1-0 at home to Portland Timbers.

A victory would have lifted them to second in the Eastern Conference but they ended the week in fifth, just a point ahead of the Red Bulls, who drew 3-3 away to Atlanta United.

Despite the setback the outlook is positive for City, who just need to turn a few more of their draws (eight in 17 matches) into wins.

They are unbeaten in their last six MLS away matches, winning three and drawing three, and should not be fearful of the Red Bulls, who are much less dominant on home soil than they were last season.

The Red Bulls won 14 of 17 home league games in 2018, helping them to finish top of the Eastern Conference.

But they have lost their air of invincibility at the Red Bull Arena this term, suffering defeats to Orlando City (0-1), Minnesota (1-2) and Montreal (1-2).

Goalscoring has been more difficult because Bradley Wright-Phillips, their top scorer for the last five seasons, has struggled with injuries.

The 34-year-old came off the bench to score a late leveller at Atlanta last weekend but is not operating at the peak of his powers.

City do not rely so much on a single source of goals and have coped well without injured Brazilian centre-forward Heber, who has missed the last three games.

They look the better balanced team and are worth an interest at odds-against with the draw no bet.

New York City draw no bet
