Saturday's National League football predictions
The National League welcomes promoted Brackley for the start of the 2025-26 season and the newcomers could be dealt a reality check when they host Eastleigh.
Last season’s National League North winners have finally ascended to non-league’s top table after a decade of being nearly-men, so arguably have the foundations to succeed at this level.
However, promoted teams often have a tough time adjusting and they could come unstuck against an Eastleigh side who have made some eyecatching signings over the summer.
The Spitfires added ex-Newport goalkeeper Nick Townsend over the summer while their midfield has been bolstered with the signing of Kieron Evans and Jordan Cousins, who featured prominently in the EFL last season.
Aaron Blair also joins, having notched 19 goals and nine assists for Maidstone last season, and that combined with the help of marksman Paul McCallum should give Eastleigh the firepower to make a winning start.
Both Solihull Moors and Forest Green boast exciting attacking options and that should result in goals at both ends.
The Moors had a woeful second half of last season, winning just four of their last 21, but did rank in the top ten in goals scored. They now have ex-Tamworth striker Dan Creaney, who found the net 19 times and was in excellent form to close out the 2024-25 campaign.
Forest Green scored the third-most goals last term and hit the target in 13 of their last 14 games.
Rovers have recruited 14-goal striker Kairo Mitchell from Rochdale and he should form a formidable partnership with Christian Doidge up front.
