Monday's National League football predictions

Truro have endured a tough start to life in the National League, losing all four games they have played, and that trend could continue when they visit Boreham Wood on Monday afternoon.

Both teams played in the National League South last season but the Wood have started better this time. They came from 3-1 down to earn a draw at relegated Carlisle before beating Braintree 2-1 at home last Wednesday.

Crucially, Boreham Wood didn’t play at the weekend, so will be well rested for this assignment. Truro aren’t so fortunate, having lost at Tamworth 2-0 on Tuesday before losing 1-0 at home to Southend on Saturday and now they must travel to Hertfordshire 48 hours later for this assignment.

Fatigue could set in for the Tinners, who have already struggled with the step up in grade, and Boreham Wood should secure their second successive win.

Scunthorpe have made a dream return to the National League with three wins from three, and they can make it four in a row when they host Halifax.

The Iron have looked sharp in front of goal, finding the net eight times already, with forward Danny Whitehall notching in each game.

Halifax have lost three of their four assignments being beaten by Braintree, Wealdstone and Forest Green, and the Shaymen’s spiral seems to be continuing from last season, where they lost seven of their last 11 games.

Scunny are playing with plenty of confidence and should outscore a Halifax team who have notched just three times this season.
