MLS predictions
D.C. United vs Chicago Fire predictions
Sunday, 12.30am
Key Stat: Philip Zinkernagel has scored in Chicago Fire's last four games
Chicago are a place and four points ahead of D.C. United in the Eastern Conference going into their meeting at Audi Field.
The Fire have been streaky all season but have won five of their last six in all competitions, most recently winning 3-1 at Orlando City.
D.C. United won 2-1 at Cincinnati to end a run of five without a victory in MLS and have a good record against Chicago, going unbeaten in their last five meetings.
The most recent was a 2-2 draw at Soldier Field in March and goals are something to follow in this match.
Four or more have been scored in Chicago's last four in all competitions and it's tough to ignore their forward Philip Zinckernagel, who has found the net in his team's last four games.
MLS Eastern Conference Standings
Position | Team | Played | Points |
1 | Philadephia Union | 17 | 34 |
2 | Cincinnati | 17 | 30 |
3 | Inter Miami | 16 | 29 |
4 | Nashville | 17 | 29 |
5 | Columbus | 17 | 28 |
6 | New York RB | 17 | 27 |
Colorado Rapids vs Austin FC predictions
Sunday, 2.30am
Key Stat: Colorado have won their last two home games 1-0
Colorado and Austin are among the teams in and around the Western Conference's wild-card places, with the Pids eighth on 22 points, two more and as many places above their Texan opponents.
Chris Armas' hosts have won only two of their last eight games. However, both were 1-0 home victories and that will give them confidence against Austin, who were 2-0 losers at San Diego in their last outing.
The Verde and Black have failed to win their last five on the road (D1, L4) and Colorado won 1-0 when these teams met at Q2 Stadium in March.
A similar outcome is expected in Commerce City, with the Rapids backed to cash in on another home win to nil.
Portland Timbers vs St Louis City predictions
Monday, 12am
Key Stat: Portland are unbeaten in seven home games
Both Portland and St Louis head into their meeting at Providence Park on the back of 2-1 wins.
The Timbers came from behind to beat Colorado, while Eduard Lowen's stoppage time penalty saw St Louis beat San Jose in their first outing since the departure of head coach Olof Mellberg.
That result ended a run of 11 without a win in MLS but interim boss David Critchley may not be able to oversee a repeat success.
A victory or draw could lift Portland into the top four and they are unbeaten in seven at home.
MLS Western Conference Standings
Position | Team | Played | Points |
1 | Vancouver | 15 | 32 |
2 | San Diego | 17 | 30 |
3 | Minnesota | 17 | 30 |
4 | Seattle | 17 | 26 |
5 | Portland | 16 | 26 |
6 | LAFC | 15 | 23 |
Vancouver Whitecaps vs Seattle Sounders
Monday, 2am
Key Stat: Seattle have won only two of nine away in the MLS in 2025
It's first against fourth in the Western Conference as leaders Vancouver host Seattle.
The Whitecaps come in after a bruising 5-0 defeat to Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions Cup final, a shocking result that headlines a poor run of one win in six in all competitions.
Seattle most recently lost 3-2 to third-placed Minnesota but had won their previous two games 1-0.
Vancouver may feel that things can't get any worse than their defeat to Cruz Azul, in which they conceded after just eight minutes and were 4-0 down at halftime.
However, despite playing two games fewer than the other teams in the top four, they still lead the Western Conference and the Sounders' road issues mean they may again struggle on their trip across the border.
LAFC vs Sporting KC predictions
Monday, 2am
Key Stat: Both teams have scored in eight of LAFC’s last ten in all competitions
LAFC made history last weekend as they qualified for their first-ever Club World Cup courtesy of a 2-1 AET win over Mexican side Club America.
With fixtures against Chelsea, Esperance and Flamengo to look forward to later in the month, they will attempt to maintain their momentum against Sunday's visitors, Sporting KC.
After drawing three in a row, the Wizards improved to win 3-1 in Houston but have failed to record a victory in their last nine meetings with the Black and Gold.
Sporting can take heart from LAFC being a team that gives opponents a chance, with either both teams scoring or three or more goals netted in nine of their last ten in all competitions.
However, Steve Cerundolo's side won 2-0 when the teams met in March and, fresh from qualifying for the upcoming Club World Cup, LAFC can kick on to record another victory.
