Liverpool are on top of the Premier League after an absorbing start to the season but, as the odds suggest, Manchester City are likely to gobble up the leaders to retain the title.

City, one point behind but odds-on favourites to be crowned champions again, have almost kept up with Liverpool's relentless pace despite having already visited Anfield and played most of the season without influential midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

With De Bruyne now raring to go there is potential for City to improve - a frightening prospect given their goal difference of plus 38 is easily the best - and on expected goals Pep Guardiola's team are comfortably seen as the superior side.
