McClaren facing baptism of fire on his Rams return

Steve McClaren has promised Derby supporters a more exciting brand of football than they have become used to but he will be judged on results and an early setback looks to be on the cards with today’s visit of improving Leeds to the IPro Stadium.

In McClaren’s first spell as Derby manager he favoured an attacking 4-3-3 formation. A swift return to those tactics has been promised as the former England manager looks to lift the Rams away from the lower reaches of the Sky Bet Championship.

However, there are likely to be teething problems for a Derby side who have scored just six league goals this season – the lowest in the division.
