Lukaku at the double for dominant United

After shocker Saturday it was back to a more routine set of Premier League results as Manchester United and Tottenham justified their billing as odds-on favourites to claim maximum points.

Bookmakers were suitably impressed by United's easy 4-0 win over West Ham at Old Trafford and they cut Jose Mourinho's side cut to 14-5 for the Premier League title after Romelu Lukaku marked his debut with an impressive double.

Substitute Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba added to the Hammers' woes as United laid down a marker for the season, although Manchester City remain market leaders at 6-4.

Lukaku, 10-1 with bet365 to score at least 30 Premier League goals, was promoted to Golden Boot favourite following his double and is 5-2 to finish the season as the top goalscorer.

It was this type of fixture that tripped United up last season - they drew ten home fixtures - but the Red Devils were rarely troubled by West Ham and will fancy their chances of continuing their excellent start at Swansea on Saturday.

Spurs have a more difficult contest next against champions Chelsea but they will arrive at Wembley in confident mood following a 2-0 success at ten-men Newcastle, who had Jonjo Shelvey sent off for a foolish stamp on Dele Alli early in the second half.

Alli punished the ten men with the opener before Ben Davies wrapped up the points. Tottenham are 8-1 to win the title but Kane is out to 5-1 for the Golden Boot after a frustrating afternoon on Tyneside where he could quite easily have scored twice.

Instead it was Alli who found a way past Newcastle keeper Rob Elliot and he is 40-1 for the Golden Boot, while bet365 rate the former MK Dons man 8-1 to notch at least 20 Premier League goals this term.

It was a miserable return to the top flight for Newcastle, who are 16-5 to be relegated again and West Ham can be backed at 9-1 to drop to the Sky Bet Championship.

Sunderland beat Norwich 3-1 in the second tier and Wigan thrashed Bury 4-1 in Sky Bet League One.
